THE CULTURE OF PORNOGRAPHY

SEXUAL LIBERATION IN AUSTRALIAN WOMEN

Are we a society immersed in sexual imagery?

There are some academics that see that the culture of pornography can be linked to the sexual liberation in women of Western Societies.

In the words of Freud some 100 years ago, he described libido as being of a masculine nature, “whether it occurs in men or in women and irrespective of whether the object is a man or a woman.

In the 1999 Roy Morgan survey, about 5 million Australians use some form of sexually explicit material, and according to the 2001 Australian Study of Sex, Health and Relationships, it is more likely for younger women to use it than older women.  These younger women are also more likely to disagree with statements made about today’s films being too sexually explicit.

Indicated by these surveys, it would seem that the younger generation are much more comfortable with aspects of sexuality, like visual, verbal, and of course the act of sex itself,  than their older counterparts.

SEX & STRESS EXPOSED IN THE SEX MYTH DICTIONARY

DICTIONARY EXPLODING THE SEX & STRESS MYTH

Let’s face it, a stress storm is not contained in a tea cup.  It spills over into every area of our lives.  Sex it would seem is particularly vulnerable to stress.  So many every day pressures mounting up, our heads everywhere else, worrying about so much to do, so little time to do it in. “If I can get this done….” “I’ll have time for….”

How many times are we on autopilot, physically participating, yet our thoughts have wandered off elsewhere. The physical sex itself may be earth shattering.  There is a distinct distance though, during the act of sex, “hello!” where is your personal presence, “Is anyone home in there?”

Sex, something so natural, compelling in intensity of “feeling,” connects us intimately in a flash with another person.  We breathe in, we breathe out, we breathe in; purely an automated physical function of the human body.  Sex, is so much more.

Where else in our lives do we behave like this?

We are there in body, but not mentally focused.

The only real context of time, is now, this moment. How we choose to fill this moment is entirely our own choice.

E- Bring your mental focus back, be personally present and “feel” the all consuming sexual intensity of sex.
