Michael Jackson, the man of the moment is upstaging other World news as the media feeding frenzy continues to “Cash In” on his death.  Ironically, the lyrics to Thriller a smash hit for Michael Jackson have come alive on the world’s streets.

Congressman blasts Jackson as “pervert” screaming headline in recent World News as Republican Representative Peter King cashes in on being in the media spotlight promoting his own political ideals.

How does the public come to terms with the death of such a high profile celebrity when scandal surrounding his public life, whether there’s some truth in it or not, is overshadowing the humanism of the man himself. Yes, he is no different to you or me in this regards. He is not some dancin’ & singin’ blow-up doll that has been elevated to celebrity status. Michael Jackson, is, after all just a man who experienced the highs and lows of life like everyone else does. We all have them.

We, the public know little of the very private and personal life of Michael Jackson. Sure, there is plenty of speculation. There always is when it is a high profile figure that is being talked about. It certainly appears that this celeb has not escaped The Tall Poppy Syndrome like so many other talented people. The media in particular loves nothing better than tearing down and exposing what they perceive to be the truth. The bottom line is that it sells. And who better than to sell it to than a hungry mob that like sitting around gossiping ‘bout who’s done what.

Sex sells people. Put Michael Jackson and sex together and you’re on a winner.

You see, we humans are a curious lot. The phenomenon that is Michael Jackson has sparked a pressing envy where he is viewed with awe and jealousy at the same time. He blows our minds with his awesome talent, and yes he jumps bigger puddles than we mere mortals. Whilst the jealous are reeling over his showmanship, still hopelessly tying to bring him down to their level (small & insignificant), the rest of us are mesmerized.

For anyone to know Michael Jackson they need to understand him. Lot’s of people think that they know him. They only know of him through the eyes of the media, a narrow perception based on a specific point of reference. From here, their scope of vision is blinkered.

Sex Myths Hidden in Plain Sight -

Don’t forget, Michael Jackson is not some kind of super hero in sequined clothes with weird powers. Strip off the media mask and he is exposed. Exposed in all his vulnerability, everything that gives us, as humans, our humanity.

What the media portrays as ambiguously bizarre behavior by Michael Jackson is simply a display of the sex myths that were pulling him apart. You could say that the mashing of his personal and public lives, a sort of social puree`, had given way to a searching for his identity that rivaled conventionalism. His life from his earliest days, were never conventional. Perhaps, this misperception of conventional normality is the fuel that stokes the fire of misunderstanding surrounding Michael Jackson.

Sex myths that Michael Jackson had fallen prey of are no different than the ones that we the public believe in. We are all made of the same emotional stuff. Michael Jackson was not exempt from engaging in The Number 1 Sex Myth and neither are you. This particular sex myth is the most virulent of all sex myths, and 99% of the population doesn’t even know that it exists.

So to turn away from this anomaly, is to inexplicitly deny the inaccuracies in the portrayal of Michael Jackson.
