UNSCRUPULOUS TELECOMMUNICATION NETWORKS PINCHING PENNIES WITH NEW MEDIA MARKETING TECHNIQUES
Once again, only yesterday, a SMS message was received on my mobile phone. Upon opening this text message I discovered it was an unsolicited message asking me to buy ring tones for my mobile phone. It then went on to read that if I wish to unsubscribe to these messages I must follow the instructions provided.
Unlike the internet where we can view where the messages received via e-mail may come from, or what they contain, mobile phones have no facility to delete SPAM without opening the mail. SPAM by certain business communication networks is becoming an ever increasing uncontrollable problem.

The question I and many others around the country are asking – is how did these business communication networks get a hold of our phone numbers in the first place???
We did not give permission for our phone numbers to be used by these business communication networks to send us these SMS messages and we certainly are not happy about them billing us for each message we receive. Each text message can cost $5.00. They keep coming and the cost to us keeps going up.
New Media Marketing in this manner is leaving a bad taste in many Australian’s mouths.

*I think the government should put in place legislation to stop the accessing mobile phone numbers without permission from the phone owner/users for the purpose of business communication networks, fraudulently gaining finances from the community.
Thanks,
Shele.
