BITTERSWEET RELATIONSHIPS

We peer at love from a distance, squint at its brightness, then peer some more, more, more, and more. Dissecting it. Analyzing it.

Then, either running to it or away from it.

Love or the lack of love, lies beneath the motives of our dreams, desires, ideas, words and actions.

We live not alone. Yet we tend to live for ourselves, alone.

Our lives are abundant with relationships. Family members, lovers, the neighbor… Everyone we connect with could be classified as a relationship. The duration and the purpose of the relationship differ.

When we are enthralled by love, our self-absorption melts away. In this haven, sexual inhibitions dissolve for as long as the sexual hormones are pumping. Our once rigid thoughts and bodies dance to love’s rhythm.

One fateful day, we wake up!

The reality of our lover’s imperfections surface, ouch!!!

The relationship deteriorates into a trade off.

SEXUALITY HIDDEN BEHIND SEXUAL BELIEFS

Getting a little uncomfortable… squirming restlessly in your chair?

Feeling defensive?

We humans, look at the world through colored glasses, the ones that fit our belief system. And it is not at all rosy.

When we look at a flower, then look at another, one that stands taller than the other, has a different shape of petal, and is varying in color. Do we automatically think that there is something wrong with it, because it differs in appearance to the other.

Yet, this is what we do to people who appear different to ourselves.

We judge them!

Sex and sexuality is a focal point in our belief system where this attitude is very apparent. We seem to be unconsciously drawn to the negative beliefs that we hold in order not to offend our own thoughts on the issue of sex and sexuality.

We just may not be “right” in our thinking, and who wants to expose that!

Is it better to be in denial, than change the way we think?

Changing our attitude towards sex and sexuality will open our eyes to endless possibilities that were not apparent before.

The sexual possibilities that were hidden behind those colored glasses.

SEXUALITY BELIEFS INHIBIT SEXUAL ENJOYMENT

We all take ourselves far too seriously at times, especially when it comes to our sexuality.

Our perception, beliefs on sexuality can be very different to another person’s thoughts about the same thing. Conflict may arise when we get together with someone who is not on the same wave length as ourselves.

Sex, being in your face and everywhere else, like on sex vids, can stimulate anxious emotions in all of us.

When we lighten up, and laugh at ourselves, sexual anxiety dissipates. We find that our sexual experiences are more spontaneously enjoyable.
